English grammar recognizes 12 main tenses, formed by combining three time periods (present, past, future) with four aspects (simple, continuous, perfect, perfect continuous).
Present Tenses
Simple Present: Habits or facts (e.g., "She walks daily.").
Present Continuous: Ongoing now (e.g., "She is walking.").
Present Perfect: Completed with present link (e.g., "She has walked.").
Present Perfect Continuous: Ongoing from past to now (e.g., "She has been walking.").
Past Tenses
Simple Past: Completed actions (e.g., "She walked.").
Past Continuous: Ongoing in the past (e.g., "She was walking.").
Past Perfect: Completed before another past action (e.g., "She had walked.")
Past Perfect Continuous: Ongoing before another past point (e.g., "She had been walking.")
Future Tenses
