Causes of Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a condition in which bone density decreases, making bones weak, fragile, and more likely to fracture. It can be caused by a combination of several factors:

1. Calcium and Vitamin D Deficiency
Calcium is the main building block of bones, while vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. A lack of either nutrient can weaken bones over time.

2. Aging
As people age, the body breaks down bone faster than it can build new bone, leading to thinner and more fragile bones.

3. Hormonal Changes
In women, a decrease in estrogen levels, especially after menopause, can significantly increase the risk of osteoporosis.
In men, lower testosterone levels can also contribute to bone loss.

4. Lack of Physical Activity
A sedentary lifestyle or insufficient exercise can reduce bone strength because bones need regular activity to stay healthy.

5. Poor Diet
A diet low in essential nutrients, particularly calcium, protein, and minerals, can accelerate bone loss.

6. Unhealthy Habits
Smoking
Excessive alcohol consumption
Both habits can interfere with the body's ability to build and maintain strong bones.
