Drinking Water With Oxygen Content

Drinking water with oxygen content means water that contains dissolved oxygen, usually measured in mg/L or as a percent saturation. Normal drinking water already contains some dissolved oxygen, and one source notes that around 6.5–8 mg/L is a healthy range, while Australian guidelines say values above 85% saturation are desirable for taste and pipe protection rather than for health.

What it means
Dissolved oxygen is simply oxygen gas mixed into water at a molecular level, not the same as air bubbles floating in a glass.

Oxygenated drinking water products may claim extra oxygen content, but most of that extra oxygen escapes once the bottle is opened.
A scientific review also notes that regular water already contains some dissolved oxygen, and the practical benefit of drinking “oxygenated” water is not established.

Simple note
If you are using this for a poster, report, or school project, a good short caption is: “Oxygenated drinking water contains dissolved oxygen, but ordinary drinking water already has some oxygen naturally present.”
