The Most Unique Calendars in the World

One of the world’s most unique calendars is the Ethiopian calendar: it has 13 months in a year, with 12 months of 30 days each and one extra month called Pagume that has only 5 or 6 days.

Other unusual calendars often mentioned include:
The Maya calendar, which used several systems at once and followed time in a very different way from modern calendars.

The French Republican calendar, which divided time into 10-day weeks instead of 7-day weeks.
The Aztec calendar, which combined two calendars for ritual and daily use.

The Soviet 5-day calendar, which once changed the structure of the week to 5 days.

The Ethiopian calendar is usually the standout because it is so different from the Gregorian calendar used in most of the world.
