Paprika | Chili Or Vegetable
Botanically, paprika is a type of chili (Capsicum annuum), but in everyday cooking it is handled and called a vegetable.
Scientific classification: Paprika belongs to the Capsicum genus and the Solanaceae family, the same group as other chili peppers.
From the taste side: Most paprika (bell pepper) contains little to no capsaicin, so it is not spicy and is often called “sweet pepper.”
Culinary use: Because it is used like vegetables (cut into salads, stir‑fries, stuffed dishes, etc.), in markets and recipes paprika is usually treated as a vegetable.
