R&B Music
R&B stands for Rhythm and Blues. It is a music genre that started in African American communities and originally blended jazz, gospel, and blues; modern R&B often also includes soul, funk, pop, and hip-hop influences.
What it sounds like
R&B usually features smooth vocals, strong rhythms, and emotional lyrics about love, relationships, and life experiences.
How it changed
Older R&B came out in the 1940s and 1950s, while contemporary R&B developed later and became more polished, often mixing in hip-hop and electronic production
