METAL MUSIC
Metal music is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, especially in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Main traits
Heavy guitar distortion.

Dark, intense, or dramatic themes.
Many subgenres, such as heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal, and black metal.

ROCK MUSIC
Rock music is usually played by a small group (often a band) using electric guitars, bass, drums, and sometimes keyboards, with an emphasis on rhythm and energy. It evolved from early rock and roll in the 1950s and has since spread worldwide, influencing countless artists and styles.

Basic characteristics
Strong, steady beat, often in 4/4 time with an accent on the “backbeat” (beats 2 and 4).
Heavy use of electric guitar, including riffs, power chords, and solos.
Lyrics often focus on emotion, youth culture, rebellion, love, or social issues, delivered with energetic or raw vocals.

Subgenres and evolution
Over time rock has branched into many subgenres such as hard rock, punk rock, heavy metal, alternative rock, and indie rock, each with its own sound and attitude. Even today, rock continues as a major global genre, carried by both classic and modern bands.
