The Most Unpleasant Smell Flower in the World

Rafflesia arnoldii is known for its foul smell, often compared to rotting meat. This odor appears when the flower blooms and helps attract carrion flies and other insects that assist in pollination.

The smell is not a flaw; it is part of the flower’s survival strategy. By imitating the scent of decaying flesh, the plant tricks insects into coming close.

Rafflesia arnoldii is also one of the largest flowers in the world and is found in Sumatra and parts of Borneo. Its blooming period is very short, and the bad smell is strongest during that time.
