Various Types of Tuna

Tuna are found in the warm seas of the Indo-Pacific region, including the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific. In Indonesia, tuna are also widely caught in the Sulawesi Sea and other open sea areas.

Commonly known types of tuna include komo tuna, krai tuna, gray tuna, batik tuna, and white tuna/skipjack tuna.  

Brief explanation
Komo tuna: often called longtail tuna or Thunnus tonggol.  

Krai tuna: known as frigate tuna. 
Gray tuna: usually refers to tuna with a bluish-gray back.  

Batik tuna: has a batik-like striped or spotted pattern on its body. 

White tuna/skipjack tuna: often used to refer to skipjack tuna, which has a lighter body than regular tuna.
