Engines Used in Electric Cars

An electric car doesn’t have a traditional “engine” like a petrol or diesel vehicle. Instead, it uses an electric motor powered by a battery.

Converts electrical energy into mechanical motion to turn the wheels.

Stores electricity (like a large rechargeable battery).

Regulates how much power goes from the battery to the motor.
